January 2, 2009 "This place was a great find. The service was friendly and its right across the street from the beach. The waiter was very cool to tell me that if I ate at the bar my drinks is buy one get one free. But I usually don't drink and knew I would prob not finish my pina colada. When I sat down I notice a Band setting up. I lucked out and also got a concert with my dinner. First I ordered my Pina Colada and was suprised how huge the glass was. It was 3 drinks worth. Then I ordered the Calamari for my appetizer. It was very good. For dinner I order the gnocchi (Italian potato dumplings) it had ham and in alfredo sauce that day (changes daily). It was also very good. I was already full from the calamari and my waiter offered to box it up for me. I sat around for a bit and watch the band a requested an Eagles song which they happily played for a tip. It was a great evening. I really enjoyed my self. Beautiful view, great food, good music, and great service. I would defiantly come here again. It got dark so the hostess flagged down me one of the bike taxi to drive me back 1/2 a mile to the Marriott. - MMJ, Los Angeles ,CA
" This is a great date place and one of my favorites on Ft. Lauderdale beach. The music and dancing in the show can get a bit intense, but the food is good and you can't beat sitting outside and feeling the ocean breeze on your face." - Daniel M. San Francisco
"There are quite a few really good places to eat along the barrier island beach in Ft. Lauderdale, Florida but if you want to know the best you should always ask the locals. This is what I did when I first arrived down there, and it they were unanimous in stating that I simply must eat at Cafe Del Mar...".
